Looking again and 'what's this Jewish Mindfulness all about?

When I think of Jewish mindfulness, I think of a wisdom that I read years ago: 'don't like at the bottle; look instead at its contents for there are new bottles that contain old wine and old bottles that contain wine that can hardly be called wine'. Basically, we are all easily tricked to believe that the world that we see before us is the world as it is. We are all sucked lock, stock, and barrel into a vortex of sensory experience; the realness of it all convinces us that we are in direct contact with the essence of the experience. Philosophers call this naive realism. Yet we all know that much lies beneath the surface of what we see. Like the beautiful blue sky revealed by the parting of clouds, we intuitively understand that behind a set back lies an opportunity for growth, wealth, mastery, and a bit of bliss. A second look offers the potential for discovery of a deeper truth, a truth that might bring great blessing. So if you want to know the essence of Jewish mindfulness, look again.

Blessings!

Welcome to all!

Welcome to my world, a world where I hope you'll be able to learn a thing or two. A world where you'll feel comfortable and safe to share, to ask and to teach. Lord knows we could all use a place where we can get a grip, a new idea, a new option. So welcome!
